Colourful Raita On Eid

Making colorful raita is not a very tedious task. However it is a very popular menu with the meals. Raita is made of curd which is very healthy and tasty food. It is formed by adding yeast to the milk and fermenting it for some time in warm places. Besides Raita you can also make lassi from curd. It is also used for marination.


  • 4 green chillies
  • 1 bunch of fresh coriander
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 500 gms curd
  • 1/4 cup coconut grated
  • 1 teaspoon (jeera) cumin seeds powder
  • 1 teaspoon (pudina) dry mint
  • 1 teaspoon (kali mirch)black peeper
  • 1 teaspoon(kala namak) rock salt
  • 1 teaspoon chaat
  • 1/2 cup boondi
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup grated paneer


Combine all the salt and spice with dahi and beat meticulously. Add onion, paneer, pudina, green chillies and tomatoes. Mix boondi and grated coconut to it and dish up.
