Eid Al-Adha

Eid al-Adha or"Greater Eid" or "Festival of Sacrifice" is an significant religious holiday reveled by Muslims all over the world to commemorate the compliance of Abraham (Ibrahim) to kill his lad Ishmael as an act of duty to God, before God intrude to supply him with a sheep— to kill instead.

Eid al-Adha is the second of two Eid events reveled by Muslims, whose foundation is layed in the Qur'an’s Sura 2 (Al-Baqara) Ayah 196. similar to Eid ul-Fitr, Eid al-Adha starts with a prayer. It is of two Raka'ah (units pursued by a khuṭbah (sermon).

The word "Eid" is found in Qur'an’s Sura al-Mai'da , meaning 'solemn festival'.

Eid al-Adha is reveled every year in the last Islamic month on the 10th day of it. It is called Dhu al-Hijjah. It is based on lunar Islamic calendar. Eid al-Adha revelries start subsequent to the Hajj, the yearly pilgrimage by Muslims of the world, in the city Mecca of Saudi Arabia going down from Arafat Mountain. The date is roughly 70 days (2 Months & 10 days) past the conclusion of the of Ramadan, i.e. Eid-ul-Fitr. Ritual ceremony of the festival lasts till sunset of the thirteenth day of Dhu al-Hijjah. Besides, sacrificing the beast people also goes to greet relatives and friends for the occasion of eid. The sacrificed meat is to be distributed into three parts one for the poor, one for relatives and for oneself. People prepare delicious dishes on this day and invite friends and relatives for feast.
